Description:

Jason Gore runs an executive coaching firm for fast-growing startups. They firm primarily work with highly-innovative companies that will reshape a given industry or domain.

Many of their clients are young engineers who suddenly found themselves leading large teams.  They needed to learn what “good leadership” was, identify their blind spots, practice new communication skills, and improve their ability to lead. After conducting 100s of leadership assessments, the firm has been able to scientifically define what good leadership is when it comes to building teams and innovating in the startup environment.

In this interactive presentation, Jason, the firm's cofounder, will share some of their discoveries, how leadership can be defined, and most-importantly, how what we learn by co-creating in community turns out to be the exact same skills that leaders are learning at startups.

Festivals like Burning Man are more than just a good time—they are a training ground for leaders, community, and innovation. There’s a reason that many startup leaders go to Burning Man and other festivals.

Together, we’ll look at what we have already learned about leadership though our community experiences and how to apply those skills to leadership in the default world. Everyone in the audience will also receive a self-assessment (printed or online) to identify areas that they could improve.
