Part alchemy and part black magic, FreeStyle Palace is an amalgam of sophisticated and authentic Urban Underground music and culture forged by the heat of the Black Rock Desert and polished by the collective talent of Burning Man Participants.

We interpret the 2010 Metropolis theme as a tribute and embrace of the Urban Underground experience we have shared with our Burning Man community for the past six years.

In his discussion of the Metropolis theme, Larry Harvey must have been thinking about FreeStyle Palace when he described “hubs of social interaction” which “generate the pulse of urban life.”

FreeStyle Palace is a “hub” of many cultures, races and generations. We produce a steady “pulse” via amplified kick drum and electronic beat. The “hub” and “pulse” of FreeStyle Palace is a backdrop for Burning Man Participants to create a personal Urban Underground experience like those which radiated from cities both modern and ancient.
