Description:
The Sun Lodge is a ceremonial gathering modeled after council meetings of the Native American Talking Stick tradition. Each man in the circle, while holding the stick, has the power of words--a chance to fully express himself and be heard in a sacred and impartial container. The speaker is supported in the courageous act of speaking in the true voice without need of defenses, without interruption. The rest of the members listen in quiet and deepening wisdom, hearing the synergistic echoing of brothers' voices. We hear in these interwoven narratives, our own realities echoed and amplified, rendered in greater and more nuanced clarity. In expressing ourselves within the tipi, while connected to the earth, the elements and the four directions, we access the codes of our authentic selves. The circle is blessed with sacred smoke and instruments and and it is closed with the intention of a better life for all of those who have gathered.
