Thursday, September 1st, 2011, 3 PM – 4 PM
Friday, September 2nd, 2011, 3 PM – 4 PM
Saturday, September 3rd, 2011, 3 PM – 4 PM
Description:
Held at Red Lightning's Rites of Passage Dome.
Something deep and profound happens in consciously choosing to step into transformation. Choosing a ceremonial Rite of Passage is a gateway into understanding ourselves, our life journey, and our place within our communal ecosystem. Without Rites of Passages in our culture we lose the bond of community connection forged through witnessing and supporting one another on our journeys. Learn about the four stages of initiation and transformation, what stage you currently are at in your cycle, and the tools that can assist you at that stage. You will then be led in a practice to gain clarity on your destiny path and the intended gift you are to bring to serve the greater community. This workshop combines practices from many lineages of Rites of Passages, including Tibetan Buddhism, the Q’ero Shamans of the Andes, and modern Wilderness Therapy.
Shena is a Transformation Coach, Ecotherapist, Shamanic Counselor, and Rites of Passage Guide. She has been initiated by Rites of Passages into several lineages including the Q’ero Shamans of Peru and Tibetan Buddhism, and is a Certified Wilderness Vision Quest Guide and Rites of Passage facilitator. She was passed the Ritesof the Munay Qi from the Shamanic lineage and learned to weave earth medicine into energetic and psychological healing on the individual and community levels.
She has experience guiding others through a variety of Rites of Passages, including 10 day Vision Quests which involve fasting in the wilderness for both adolescents and adults, as well as weekend Rites of Passage workshops for both men's and women's groups.
Shena is the Co-Founder of Sacred Living Institute (www.sacredlivinginstitute.com), an organization dedicated to awakening and embodiment of the soul self through Rites of Passages, Wilderness Therapy, and Contemplative Practice.
