Born in Chicago in the 80's, and a far cry from the civilized quiet Tuesday afternoon readings in back corners of libraries that you may have in mind when someone says "poetry", a poetry slam is a rowdy competition where the emphasis is on performance, entertainment and audience participation.

This is also an open mic to show off your creative side. Song? Dance? Performance? Bring it. There will be sign up sheets at the campsite prior to the event day for you to join in. If you're late for your slot, we'll go down the line, and you can re-add yourself to the end if there's room. All are welcome to join in on the fun, contributing your creativity, or just sitting back to enjoy the show.

If we have a good showing and interest, we may just repeat the event later on in the week.
