The 'where' is everywhere, again since money is so pervasive. That Burning Man is a 'gifting society' is a dodge. It exists within a moneyed society, and only at the considerable expenditure of vast sums of money, energy and materials.

The 'when' is similarly pervasive. The experience will change participants forever, and in so doing help create a paradigm shift by which humanity MAY survive the onset of ecological breakdown that scientists indicate has already begun with the 'anthropocine extinction episode' currently afoot."
