Description:

Interested in learning how secure locks really are? Enjoy playing with small mechanical puzzles? Want to see if you can, one day, become a true ninja? Then come by and participate in our Introduction to Lockpicking Workshop.

I'll start the session off with a presentation on the guts of standard pin tumbler locks (the kind of key-locks you'll find on most front doors and many padlocks) and how this translates into lock vulnerabilities and inevitably the potential for picking. The presentation will be repeated as needed throughout the workshop. I'll supply sets of practice locks with escalating difficulty and plenty of tools to go around. The rest of the workshop will go to open play-time and questions. Just bring yourself and an open mind! I'll even bring a few challenge locks for the quick-learners, masochists, and already-experienced pickers.

Come and learn how to open today's most commonly used lock - without the key.
