This offering will be a combination of lecture and dialogue on the topic of open (non-monogamous) relationship as a path of awakening. Open relationships, and/or polyamory, are becoming more widely known to the general public as an alternative to the default cultural model of monogamous relationships. One of the first questions that comes up for someone when they first hear about open relationship is "Why?" Why would anyone choose this model of relationship? Certainly at the beginning of someone's exploration of open relationship (and often for sometime to come), it would seem a guaranteed way to bring up ones deepest fears and insecurities. So why do it?

We will talk about open relationships and explore answers to these questions, from an unlikely frame, that of spiritual awakening. In my opinion, not only is open relationship compatible with a deep path of spiritual awakening, it may be one of the most profound ways to catalyze and walk that path.
