Description:

Escape from the hustle, bustle and cacophony of our growing city. Appreciate the indigenous stillness and aesthetics of the Black Rock desert in a cordoned-off zone free of motorized vehicles and loud amplified music. The Otic Way is a wilderness outpost providing an
audio antidote and alternative of peace and quiet, deep in Walk-In Camping, where no motorized vehicles are permitted and large scale sound systems don’t penetrate. At last, a retreat where the aural options are in keeping with the indigenous stillness and aesthetics of the Black Rock Desert. It will provide shade and shelter to weary travelers who might require a bit of tranquility and quiet in order to recharge and allow them to commune with their internal and external environments. The Otic Way is an arc of individual Satellites with a central Shade area, composed of geometric crystalline clusters of interwoven modules, that provide individualized and group spaces for meditation and contemplation of the sunrise, sunset and our natural surroundings. The biomimicry of the design complements the desert backdrop and offers a manmade structure that takes inspiration from the rocks, mountains, caves, and plateaus found in nature. It is made completely of interlocking wood, with no nails or metal fasteners.
