BRC Writing Marathon
Description:
A writing marathon is a magical experience for anyone who loves to write, and the playa and BRC provide a wealth of imaginative material. This model was based on Natalie Goldberg's concept in "Writing Down the Bones," and developed into a moving art form by the Southeastern Louisiana Writing Project. In brief: we choose a location, sit and write for ten minutes or so, share what we have written, and move on to another location. The only response we give to each others' writing is "thank you."
We will likely depart from the Midway around 3:50 after we get ourselves organized and sit down to "write out the cobwebs." Participate for as long as you wish. Depending on interest, we may even publish our work online after the event. Visit writingmarathon.com to get a taste of how we do this in the Big Easy!
