Description:
Are human naturally monogamous or promiscuous? Neither view makes sense given what we've learned about human sexual psychology in the last couple of decades. Most of us seem to have evolved over the last million years to be polyamorous by nature. But we are socialized into monogamist mating norms that amplify sexual jealousy, reduce compersion, stifle our sexual sovereignty, and limit the social networks that we instinctively try to build through lovers and metamours. In this talk, a leading evolutionary psychology professor (author of 'The Mating Mind', 'Spent', and 'Mate') will give a quick, fun overview of the new science behind poly. Then we'll have a Q&A.
