Numerous cultures have found communion and solace in the experience of drinking tea. Brewing tea assumes a meditative posture and is inherently generous. Rooted in these philosophies, we will bring strangers together through a tea ceremony grounded in calmness and mindfulness. The significance and ritual of each ceremony will be explained by our in-house tea-master. We will teach participants, in pairs, how to brew tea and conduct a formal tea ceremony specific to an individual culture (Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Russian, African, English, Turkish), which they will then perform and share with the rest of the group.
