We are facing a spiritual crisis of epidemic proportion in our world today. As a first generation East Indian woman, physician, and mystic, I have battled through my own psyche to find clarity that I revere as a guide for my being in this world. The spiritual crisis has been a fundamental struggle, as my life has been a search for identity in a new culture that clashes fiercely with that of my native heritage. While India is vibrant with with fragrance, texture, sound, and color, a constant sensory exploration, America has been overworked and desensitized by violence, oppression, ignorance, and suffering. Initially a victim of this plight, Great Spirit ultimately granted the gifts of True Wisdom. However, integration from the expansive awakening of unity consciousness to the mundane experience of ordinary life is no small task. From the strength of humanity and the love of true friendships to miracles and the cosmic vibration found in the echoes of stillness, this is a story of that wonderful journey.
