Discussion of the basics for adding solar to your BurningMan camp and/or RV. Will cover: assessing your needs, sizing your system, panel selection, wiring, battery options and limitations, charge controllers (the good and the junk), the magic of a proper battery monitor, why you want a shunt, why are batteries not created equal, inverters to get 110 AC, and simplified installations. RV plans will include battery storage, panel placement, and wiring access into the RV. Camp installations will include simple portable panels, connecting multiple panels for more capacity, battery storage, connections for recharging simple USB devices and small inverters for AC only devices like a CPAP (or DC adaptor source).
