Description:
You shuffle our specially made Shakespeare tarot deck as you gaze out at the Playa. Maybe you have a question; maybe you just let your mind roam as you gaze out. Then you pick a card which has a major arcana on one side and a fitting piece of Shakespeare text on the back. Perhaps The Lovers. We bring you over to the map on the side of the bar which shows the Tree of Life and the paths of the Arcana so you can see that your Lovers card is actually the path between Understanding and Beauty. Then you step up onto our stage. One of us stands behind you and feeds you the first line of text almost at a whisper. “My story being done. She gave me for my pains a world of sighs.” Othello, Act 1, Scene 3. You speak the text at full volume to the Playa. And then we feed you the next line and the next...You get to be a Shakespearean actor speaking a full monologue under the wild desert sky. The card is yours to keep and your assignment is to find another opportunity to speak the text again before you leave. Liquid courage is served to those who may need it before they can speak.
