Description:

Much lore in human myth and folklore pertains to the mushroom, from Baba Yaga’s relationship to fly agaric to the speculative connection between lightning gods and mushrooms to many shamanic practices – to the modern myths (in the cosmological, not “false,” sense) of Terrence McKenna and other psychonauts. This brief, punchy, story-filled lecture will provide a whirlwind tour of the many hallowed roles of the mushroom in our collective unconscious. A discussion (and invitation to share your own knowledge of shroom folklore) will follow.
