Description:

Whether you’re interested in bondage for sex, relaxation, sadomasochism, art, or simply connecting with your significant other/s, Japan’s unique style of rope play offers you an exciting new perspective on concepts like control, pleasure, and intimacy.
Learning the Ropes: Introduction to Shibari
During the intro event, we’ll go over Shibari’s origins, safety considerations, practical anatomy and consent, recommended tools, and basic techniques—but most of all, we’ll dive into how you can balance having a great time with your partner/s while keeping each other safe.

This event will be helpful if you ever found yourself asking:

Which/how many ropes should I be using?
How many knots/techniques do I need to know for Shibari?
Does bondage always have to be sadistic/nude/use complex patterns?
Can I still get tied if I’m not a thin/light/petite Japanese woman?
Are there parts of the body I shouldn’t be tying?
What’s the difference between circulation loss and nerve damage?
How tight should my wraps/bondage ties actually be?
In what order should I untie or be untied when the scene is done?
What are we supposed to be doing at the end of our sessions?
Reminders:
Always aim to be respectful, empathic, and inclusive.
Pick a kinky codename or alias if you need to protect your identity!
Ask for explicit verbal consent before touching/engaging with a person or their property.
These are open, public events! Intimacy with your partners is welcome but please keep your clothes on during the event.
Do not ask other attendees for their vanilla life details (i.e. real names, career, address, etc.). If they are comfortable sharing those details, they will.
Note that the moment you drink, you will be asked to stop participating in any type of rope bondage during the event. Those who fail to comply with the requests of the organizers will be sent out, blacklisted, and reported to the rest of the international groups.
