Description:

This interactive workshop incorporates 5 elements of metal, wood, water, fire, & earth in Chinese medicine, philosophy, fengshui and martial arts through sensory play. Associated since Han Dynasty w/ specific colors, shapes, and energy, which can enhance harmony and improve the flow of energy. Sounds, colors, scents and flavors will be shared to tease the senses and invite participants to explore the five elements.
Join Mazu (Goddess of the Sea) Camp as we engage in sensory play to tantalize your senses. Allow sounds from the Orient to provide a soundbath in a custom-built dome, designed by friends from the Dream Community. Enjoy imported tea from Asia, inhale scents reminiscent of subtropical Taiwan, visualize colors & shapes and let your body play with materials hand carried from Taiwan to teleport you.
Metal element is related to focus and is associated with the lungs, round shapes, grey/pastels/white colors and the Autumn season. Allow the soundscape provided by metal instruments from Asia to activate the directing energy of metal.
Wood element is known for growth and associated with the liver, rectangular/columnar shapes, green shades and the Spring season. Play with hand sculpted materials hand carried from Taiwan to activate your sprouting energy.
Water element is known for fluidity and associated with the kidneys, wavy shapes, black/dark tons and the Winter season. Sip on imported tea served with Gong Fu elements of ritual to activate the fluid energy of water.
Fire element is related to vitality (yang) energy and correlates with the heart, triangular shapes and red/pink shades, corresponding to the summer season. Light incense with our camp from Taiwan to activate your lively fire element.
Earth element is a nurturing energy associated with the stomach, square shapes, orange/yellow/earth tones and the changing of the seasons. Caress materials from the ceramic capital of Taiwan, Yingge to activate the sustaining energy of earth.
