BRING USPS STAMPS. Must meet postal regulations, our pros will help you make it work. Come as you are. Your fridge will thank you all year long.
You can send mail to the default world (and receive it). Terms and conditions apply. Form a line. Please fill out this detailed form in triplicate, in crayon. You have 2 minutes. Non-compliance will be punished. Please procure one (1) joke from a passerby. Stand on your head, or dance like a teapot.
We want your stamps. So does every other un-prepared burner. It shall be a quest, huzzah!
If you're an international burner, please stop by a post-office on your way to the playa and get an international stamp (or three, for your friends).
Out-going mail:
First-class postcards and letters ONLY.
No large letters or parcels.
Please read the USPS dmm100 for further restrictions.
Incoming mail:
If you absolutely MUST have valuable, time sensitive or indispensable mail during the week of the Event, it would be most reliable to have it sent to YOURSELF C/O General Delivery, Gerlach, NV 89412 and must pick it up there yourself (with appropriate ID).
We attempt deliveries:
- Build-week deliveries must be properly marked.
- Camp addresses: use man/mountain-side, and better addressing 5:01/4:59 (vs 5:00); to specify block (vs. a less-helpful intersection).
- Your name & playa-name (there are quite a few people named Chris)
- Return addresses are required (delivery is not assured)
- No large/heavy packages (bicycle delivery)
- DO NOT MAIL DRUGS, even if they are legal in your state. USPS / Feds screen packages, and run sting operations. Being responsible here keeps many people in replacement driver's licenses, spare car-keys, phone batteries, prescription glasses, and spark-plugs for broken vehicles.
