Overview: Come discover the nature of our universe on the grandest scales. Katie’s talk gives us an introduction to cosmology, galaxy structure and formation, and more—all discovered in the last few decades thanks to our magnificent space telescopes. We’ll discuss how these telescopes are able to give us new vantage points and how they have painted the picture of the universe as we see it today.

Bio: Katie helps run the nightly public observing program at Griffith Observatory. She graduated this Spring with a BS in Astronomy from USC. She plans to pursue a career in astronomy science communication and public engagement.
