Description:

"The trans phenomenon. What do you know? What do you wish you knew? What would you like to know, but were afraid to ask? The purpose of this workshop is to educate and enlighten those interested in knowing more about this 3% of the public that few understand. This workshop seeks to help transphobic people in a non-judgmental way. The very basic definition transphobia, is simply being frightened of trans-folks because of misunderstandings or lack of education on all things trans. This is often because the questions you’ve always wanted to ask, are taboo; making it difficult to learn, understand, and honor the transgender path. Open to all.

Trans 101: The Nuts and Bolts.
A brief PowerPoint discussion of definitions and the basics of gender, gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation. How are transgender and cisgender people alike? How are they different?

Trans 201: A Peak Through the Veil.
After learning the basics, we’ll have a Q&A session where any and all questions will be fielded. We all know that there are questions that are deemed inappropriate to ask a transperson. For this brief moment in time, there are no taboos. We will do our best to answer your questions with honesty, transparency, and sincerity."
