Description:

Hops and cannabis both express the same glands to produce resins (trichomes). In fact, they are chemically capable of making many of the same aromatic molecules (we call them alpha-acids in beer - the bittering agent in IPA style beers, and terpenes in cannabis, (but they’re the same molecules)

These molecules have their own physiological effects - they are essential oils, after all, and when smoked, along with the cannabinoids present in the flower, the terpenes help to create what we call the entourage effect. Have you ever wondered why two cannabis strains may test for exactly the same amount of THC, but provide completely opposite effects, some making you relaxed and some making you energized? It all has to do with what terpenes you consume along with the specific blend of cannabinoids present that make a finger print of each strain of cannabis.

We will be using a technique called “Ice hash” or “Bubble Hash” to extract these glands.
We use ice to make the glands (made of hollow plant wax) brittle, then we use increasingly fine silk screens to break them off the leaf surface and sieve them away from the plant material, leaving behind a purified collection of plant glands/resins.

Come for fun - come to learn about healthy hash making! Come to make friends and expand your mind.
