The Playa Penthouse is a tall viewing platform above the normal activity, where solace and peace can be found as the sun goes down on another day. At this point, mid-burn, we gather to share a quiet time and close another day on the Playa. Meditation, or quiet discussion about tolerance and acceptance, both of others and of self, will be the subject talk. Many of us on the Playa, both vets and newbies struggle with how others perceive themselves and others. Many are in states of transition, in relationships, in gender, profession, or simply finding acceptance. We try and express to others how magic they are and give others a mirror in which to view who they really are, with pride and dignity. Sometimes, finding just one other person on earth that see you this way, is enough to keep us going.
